Most people discover Dashdrop through food delivery. But the platform handles far more than restaurant orders — and many of our most loyal customers use it primarily for groceries, medicine, or parcel delivery between friends and businesses.

Food and beverages cover everything from restaurant meals and street food to bottled water, soft drinks, and packaged snacks from local stores. If a merchant on the platform sells it, a rider can bring it to you. Groceries and fresh produce work the same way — several supermarkets and market traders in Nairobi and Mombasa list their inventory on Dashdrop, and riders are trained to handle perishables carefully.

For parcels and documents, you can send any item that fits in a standard courier bag or box — clothing, electronics, sealed envelopes, business documents, and gifts. There is no minimum or maximum weight stated at checkout, but riders on motorcycles have a practical carry limit of around 10 kg. For heavier items, our van delivery option (available in Nairobi) handles loads up to 50 kg.

A few things we cannot carry: liquids over one litre in unsealed containers, live animals, perishable medicine that requires refrigeration, and any item that is illegal to transport under Kenyan law.
